The gambler is the ultimate architect of their own destiny, operating in the high-tension space between ruin and legendary wealth. From the glittering towers of the Corporate Sector to the lawless fringes of Wild Space, their role is defined by the venues they frequent and the stakes they are willing to endure.

Class of Gambler (choose one option)
To create an authentic Star Wars gambler costume, there has to be a balance of aesthetic flair with practicality. In the galaxy far, far away, your clothes tell everyone whether you’ve just hit the jackpot on Canto Bight or if you’re one bad hand away from being spacing-fodder.
Below are descriptors to which the Inquisitors will be looking for, in essence, once chosen class is taken up.
These descriptions serve as an aesthetic guide, not a rigid checklist. Think of them as a “visual mood” rather than a list of mandatory criteria. Use these suggestions to capture the spirit of the archetype while allowing room for your own creative interpretation and available materials.
The Outer Rim Scoundrel
- The Scoundrel’s aesthetic is built on rugged utility and the readiness for a quick exit.
- This is the look of a gambler who wins a ship in the morning and flees a bounty hunter by noon.
- The fabrics are heavy-duty—canvas vests with multiple functional pockets and weathered bovine leather jackets that show every scuff from a narrow escape.
- The color palette is grounded in “greasy” earth tones like chocolate brown and slate, punctuated only by a single bold stripe of color down the trouser leg.
- Everything is “lived-in”; the shirt is a wrinkled cotton with a deep, buttonless V-neck, and a pair of tarnished gold chance cubes hangs from the belt like a holy relic of luck.
Lavish Professional
- This aesthetic is defined by unapologetic opulence and architectural precision.
- Imagine a figure draped in a heavy, mustard-yellow wool cape that doesn’t just hang, but flows with a weighted, liquid grace. When they turn, the flash of a hidden electric-blue satin lining catches the artificial glow of the casino lights, acting as a visual “power move.”
- The fabrics are rich and clean—silk shantung tunics with natural horizontal grains and stiff, upright collars that frame the face with Imperial-like authority.
- There is no dust here; every seam is a blind-stitched masterpiece, and the only “tech” visible is a polished gold monocle or a signet ring that hums with the soft blue light of a holographic odds-calculator.
The High-Stakes Socialite
- Moving into the cold, monochrome world of Canto Bight, the aesthetic shifts to stark minimalism and sharp geometry.
- This is a look of “quiet money” played out in piano black and surgical white.
- The fabrics are stiff and structural—heavy velvets and brocades that hold their shape even when the wearer is seated at a high-stakes table.
- The silhouette is defined by exaggerated, “hard” shoulders and floor-length dusters with offset hems that create a sense of alien avant-garde.
- Accessories are abstract and metallic, such as geometric neck-torques or thin, obsidian-glass datapads.
- It is a look that feels surgically clean, intimidatingly expensive, and entirely devoid of the warmth found in the rest of the galaxy.
Additional options:
Alien Physiology
- Masks or prosthetics resembling canon/legends species may be used.
- All alien species pieces (i.e. hand, feet, mask, prosthetics) must be of high quality and appearance.
- Body paint may be used.
Armor
- Only Scoundrels are allowed armor and limited up to two pieces on arm only
- Cybernetics do not count towards the armor limit
Weapons
- Weapons can be any sidearm, or small melee weapon and must tie in with the chosen class.
- Must resemble Canon/Legends blaster
- Sidearms must fit in holster
All costumes and applications are judged on a case-by-case basis. Deviations from the above CRL can and will be accepted when medical conditions require it.
